2. Process Flow
Complete Production Process
Stage 1: Raw Maize Intake & Cleaning
Maize enters the system through a rotary flat sieve for initial screening, followed by a gravity destoner (ensuring sand content < 0.02%) and a magnetic separator (ensuring metal content < 0.003%). These steps protect downstream equipment and ensure product purity.

Stage 2: Conditioning (Dampening)
The cleaned maize passes through a stainless steel moisture damper where water is precisely added. This step increases the toughness of the bran layer, reducing breakage during peeling and improving degermination efficiency. The maize then rests in conditioning silos for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Stage 3: Peeling & Degermination
Advanced degerminators (utilizing Japanese technology) separate the bran, germ, and endosperm with up to 95% peel and germ threshing rate. This step removes both the maize husk and the black tip cap, ensuring the final products are pure white - a critical quality requirement for the Zimbabwean staple food, sadza .

Stage 4: Milling & Sieving
The degerminated maize is processed through:

• Pneumatic roller mills (European standards)

• High square plansifters for classification and grading

• Purifiers for premium-grade flour production

Products are graded according to particle size to meet different market segments - from coarse grits for breakfast meal to fine flour for baking (40-120 mesh for standard flour, up to 200 mesh for specialty products).

Stage 5: Packaging
Finished products are automatically weighed, bagged, and sealed using automatic packaging machines, with options for 10kg, 12.5kg, 20kg, 25kg, and 50kg bags. A micro dosser system can optionally add vitamins and minerals for fortified flour production.
